One Year Ago…

One year ago was one of the best days of my life.

On February 29th, 2012, our first Children’s Book was released. Pete the Popcorn scored three #1 positions on Amazon.com during the day of release. And I have you to thank— friends, family and readers. You banded together and all purchased the book on one given day, making it shoot up Amazon’s charts and exposing it to a larger audience.

Here are a few photos from that day:

Here is Nick, featured with the NUMBER ONE screen from Amazon.

“Humbled” is the only word I can ever think of to describe how I felt as I saw our very first Children’s Book rise through those charts. More importantly, this opened the door for us to visit schools throughout the country and teach kids the message behind Pete the Popcorn: encourage each other every single day!

This month, we’re doing it again. Our third book, Casey and Callie Cupcake, will hit Amazon.com on March 15th. We’re having a countdown on Facebook… so I’m going to spread it to the blog, too:

FEB 28 for NICK AND JOE

One Day in Malaga, Spain PART THREE

For this third part in my Malaga series, I’m taking you on a tour of the local produce market. When I heard that there was a giant market right in the heart of town, I had to find it… photos at places like this are awesome. And, when you think about it, you can’t get much more local than where folks buy their groceries, right?

Doesn’t all that cheese look so good!?!? I want to have a whole wine store to go with it!

The smell while walking past the booths filled with olives was indescribable.

IMG_6933Fruits and vegetables never cease to amaze me with their color.

IMG_6932And the variety that was available was just stunning.

IMG_6930Miguel really knows how to filet fish, apparently.

IMG_6929What kind of fish are these? Can somebody help me?

Finally… as I was entering the market…

IMG_6926Now, is this a man? Or a really unfortunate-looking woman? Keep in mind that this photo was taken on Valentine’s Day. And ‘she’ was a bride, as far as I could tell from the photo. But Crocs? What kind of a bride, male or female, would wear Crocs down the aisle?!?!

Have a good one, everybody!

Nick
