Gun Debate: Weapon of Mass Distraction.

I’m telling you, folks… we are all being duped.

By now, you’ve heard the infamous quote from one Rahm Emanuel: “You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”

Here’s what’s happening: Washington is talking about gun control as a distraction. It’s like a sleight-of-hand magician— they’ve got the shiny nickel of gun control over HERE… while they are raising taxes and destroying the dollar over HERE!

While we are being distracted by the President, the dollar is falling seriously against the Euro:

See how the Euro is on a steady gain since about mid-November? And how our US dollar is only worth about 78 cents? Have you seen this reported in the news? Nope. Because we’re talking about guns.

I have thought all week about the different groups trying to politicize the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting and use it to their advantage, for whatever purpose they are seeking. As Rahm said, don’t let it go to waste!

Of course, we knew that liberals would immediately use it as an excuse for “gun control.”

Then we had the teacher’s unions using it as a way to talk about collective bargaining rights. I had one of my teacher friends on Facebook actually post this quote from their union leader, “for the past several months, teachers have been made out to be nothing more than union thugs. Now the nation can see teachers for what they truly are: heroes. And these heroes deserve the right to collectively bargain over wages, health care and retirement.” Wow— didn’t even wait for the first funeral to post that one!

Yesterday, we had the President of the United States using it to advance his own domestic agenda, regarding the economy. How the fiscal cliff negotiations are affected by Sandy Hook, I don’t know. But this is what he said, “After what we’ve gone through over the past several months, a devastating hurricane and now one of the worse tragedies in our memory, the country deserves the folks to be willing to compromise for the greater good.”

IT GETS BETTER!!!! IN response to a question on the fiscal cliff negotiations with Speaker Boehner, Obama invoked the shooting in Connecticut yet again, saying, “if this past week has done anything, it should give us some perspective.”

The whole news conference yesterday was nothing more than a dog-and-pony show to distract people from the more pressing issue of our crumbling economy. What’s going to hurt more people? Guns? Or mass riots and civil war when our currency completely collapses? And the talking heads were not happy when reporters, at The Great Gun Control News Conference, dared to ask questions about something other than guns. Have a look:

That Piers Morgan has ruined any inkling of credibility that he may have had with his flailing, huffing and desperate arguments all week long, by the way.

Do you need more proof that yesterday’s news conference was nothing more than a giant distraction? The best the President could do was appoint Vice President Biden to head up his Gun Control task force? The same Vice President Biden that has spoken out of both sides of his mouth about gun control? Once again, let’s go to the evidence at hand:

Ok. Alright. This looks pretty cut-and-dried… Joe Biden has always been anti-gun, even receiving an F rating from the NRA.

Until it was politically expedient, in front of a Virginia crowd of gun-friendly folks. Then, he had this to say:

I love it when Uncle Joe uses that word “malarkey”. It just fits him.

Now, some people respond better to video. So, here you are:

Remember back in ’02 and ’03 and ’04 when Democrats would howl that the Bush administration was using “Weapons of Mass Distraction” during the run-up to and during the Iraq War? Oh, I was right there with them… something smelled fishy.

But I’m ready, willing and able to stand up to our current leadership, as well. Because this whole gun control charade is nothing but a distraction, designed to remove our collective minds from the fact that we are looking at the largest tax increase in American history and the US dollar crumbling, both of which will shove this country into a recession costing job after job after job.

Oh– and other news that came out yesterday while we were dreaming of guns and Joe Biden’s veneers? The US Treasury announced their plan to get Government Motors back to being General Motors, with a stock sell-back that will still end up costing you and I billions of dollars. The government will end up taking around a 50% loss on the whole damn venture, before exiting the auto-making business sometime in 2014.

Distracted still?
