I Felt Like Oprah!

I’ll admit it… now I know why Oprah gave away all that free stuff… it wasn’t for ratings or good television— it’s because it feels really, really awesome!

As you might remember, we ran across a local elementary school that was closing. And their library books? Straight to the recycling bin!!! So we made the move to save them.

In June, we gave away over 2000 books at a book swap in Westland, Michigan– a suburb of Detroit. At the book swap, we collected a ton of books, though— and the school had more!

So this past weekend, we held another event to give away these books! We gave away every last one— close to 3000!!!!

Furthermore, a Michigan State Senator, Glenn Anderson, contributed over 500 BRAND NEW books! We decided to give these away IN THE PARADE! That’s right— we didn’t hand out candy… we handed out books!

Free books! A preview…

This past weekend, we gave away 3000 books to local children in Blissfield, Michigan.
